Spring Highlights:
To celebrate the arrival of Spring, I am pleased to highlight Insect, Flower, Turtle, and Frog themed jewelry from the Archeologico collection.
Spring is a time of birth and renewal. The pitter patter of rain can be heard as the tiny droplets of water fall to Earth. Days become longer. Sunshine and warmth bring beautiful flowers to bloom in a burst of color. Delicate buds on trees grow into a multitude of green leaves. Dragonflies flit and fly like mystical fairies, and butterflies float on the wind pollenating enchanted floral lands on a journey to nowhere. Tadpoles magically turn into frogs, and turtles return from a long winter’s sleep. Celebrate the arrival of Spring in my collection of designs ... "inspired by the past for your present."
Dragonflies: The Dragonfly is often in Japanese paintings, representing new light and joy. Fantastic flyers, their shimmering bodies dart like light, twisting, turning, changing direction, and even going backwards if the need arises. The dragonfly inspires us to learn to practice the shedding and mirroring of light in our own lives.
Butterflies: The butterfly is the only living being capable of changing genetic structure when it transforms from a caterpillar. The butterfly represents a need for change and greater freedom, as well as courage.
Egyptian Scarabs: In ancient Egypt, stone-carved scarabs were used as magical amulets to give the wearer "eternal renewal of life." This magical object was believed to have protective powers that warded off evil and provided good things for the owner of this life and also for the next.
Flowers: Flowers have a language of their own. Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by these delicate blooms. A gift of flowers for a special someone is a gift of thoughtfulness and love.
Roses: Since ancient times, roses have been grown for their fragrance, beauty, and healing properties. After having met the long stems with the thorns, your are rewarded with a flower of great beauty and mesmerizing fragrance. In other words, roses act as a metaphor for life: after overcoming difficulty, you will find inner harmony, union, and happiness.
Turtles: The turtle is a positive omen bringing 10,000 years of happiness in Japan. Because of their long lifespan, they are also a symbol of good fortune and longevity. In China it was believed that these animals foretold future events, which was read from the pattern on the tortoise shell. Chinese legend says the turtle carries the world on its back, and is a symbol of fertility, vitality, great patience, and quiet inner strength.
Frogs: For thousands of years, amphibians have been associated with myths and magic. The frog shaped Egyptian Goddess “Heket” was believed to give all creatures the “Breath of Life” before they were placed in another’s womb. Many cultures have related them to good fortune, protection, and fertility.
